Shawn Pourgol MBA, DC, DO, DN, PhD

Dr. Shawn Pourgol’s outstanding education and accomplishments began in 1989 when he attended Eastern High School of Commerce  Canada, and became the  Ontario scholar of 1989.  In his continuous pre-doctoral education at Ryerson University in Applied Chemistry and Biology, he managed to obtain the highest academic average of 97% (A+) between 11,000 university students, for which he was rewarded with the Merit Award, by Honorable David Peterson, the premier of Province of Ontario in Canada. Subsequently, Dr. Pourgol was accepted in 1991 to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where he finished with a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) Degree in 1995 and resigned in 2014.  He has post graduate training in physical rehabilitation, sports medicine, clinical ergonomics, business management (MBA), work related injuries, and manual osteopathy; including a DOMP (Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice), and a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy).

In addition to his work as a Canadian Osteopathic Manual Practitioner & Naprapath, he is the Founder & President of the National Academy of Osteopathy (Canada), National University of Medical Sciences (USA, Spain, Panama), California Health University (Los Angeles) & Seville University of Health & Medicine (Spain).  He is also founder of the non-profit, charity based Pourgol Osteopathy Chronic Pain Hospital in Panama that offers free osteopathic and naprapathic care and the Pourgol Osteopathy Chronic Pain Research Center in Spain.  In 2017, Dr. Pourgol founded the Osteopathy Chronic Pain Clinics of Canada in Toronto (Ontario) which currently operates over 378 clinics in 34 countries.  He is currently serving as president of the Asociación de Osteopatía de Panamá and the Canadian Union of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners.

In 2012, Dr. Pourgol founded June 22nd as the World Osteopathy Day.  It is his goal to expand the professions of manual osteopathy across the world, so everyone can have access to osteopathic chronic pain management.
