Nutrition Program Accreditation Guidelines

Nutrition education programs must demonstrate proficiency in the following educational standards to become ANWPB accredited. Accreditation ensures that graduates are pre-qualified to sit for the ANWPB Board Exam in Nutrition. Unlike other organizations, ANWPB does not require schools to be state registered as post-secondary providers. We welcome all schools, including career, technical, vocational, trade schools, and occupational certification programs, so long as they meet our rigorous standards of education.

  2. Anatomy/Physiology

  3. Biochemistry

    (Cellular responses to nutrition intake)

  4. Herbology

  5. Nutritional Pathophysiology

    a. Structural nutrition support – Circulatory (cardio/pulmonary), Digestive, Endocrine, Immune, Integumentary, Lymphatic, Musculoskeletal, Nervous

    b. Manifestation of symptoms due to nutritional excess, inadequacy, and metabolic faults

  6. Environmental Impacts on Health

    (Specifically modern nutrition intake’s influence on health)

  7. Nutritional Coaching

    a. Nutritional analysis and design

    b. Comparative analysis of popular dietary modalities

    c. Whole foods vs. ultra-processed foods

    d. Cultural nutrition influences

    e. Health assessment (lean body mass, BMI limitations, labs review, anthropometrics, health history)

    f. Motivational interviewing/coaching strategies
