Licensing

DID YOU KNOW you can be Board Certified and Licensed with GEHA?  It’s the Perfect combination!

You’re probably thinking – “I can’t get a license, only ‘states’ issue licenses.”

NOT TRUE!  PLEASE READ BELOW AND GET INFORMED OF WHAT’S AVAILABLE TO NATURAL/HOLISTIC WELLNESS PRACTITIONERS.

Certification

The designation of “Certified” is given to someone who has education in a specific field. Today the most sought-after designation is “Board Certification” and is important to note that there are several organizations that “board certify,” yet only a few that have an actual “board.”  AANWP/ANWPB has high standards in all things related to Natural Wellness Certification:  education/credential requirements, ethics, advisory board, wall document, etc.  Most educational institutions grant someone a “certificate” when the individual earns a diploma, bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree; this is not a board certification, since educational institutions teach and do not “certify” graduates. The accepted standard is that upon graduating from an educational institution, a graduate applies for the designation of “Certified” or more often the designation of “Board Certified.”

Licensing

Many Natural Wellness Practitioners do not hold a State License because often, there is no State Board to grant licensure, since there are hundreds of natural health designations in use today. A License is usually granted by a State, but there are Ecclesiastical Private Associations that grant a License to offer holistic health services, in accordance with the first and fourteenth Amendment of the US Constitution. This provides a constitutionally protected path for spiritually minded practitioners to offer natural, ecclesiastical-based physical, mental and spiritual (Natural) health services. It’s important to note that this kind of natural practitioner license does not permit a practitioner to make claims that he/she may diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. However, a Natural Wellness Practitioner may “recommend” lifestyle changes and products that can assist clients in their quest to get well and stay well.  Learn More!
